Squid Game Halloween Costume Ideas India 2026 — Masks, Outfits & Party Setup

Every October, I get the same WhatsApp message from group after group across Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore: "Bhaiya, Squid Game costumes available hain? We are six people, sabko same guards chahiye." Squid Game hasn't just stayed popular in India — it has become the default group Halloween idea, the theme that solves the hardest problem of any costume party: how do you get six friends with six different budgets, six different body types and six different levels of enthusiasm to actually show up dressed? The answer is that Squid Game makes it almost impossible to mess up. The looks are simple, cheap, and instantly recognisable, and that is exactly why I keep recommending it first when someone asks me what to wear this Halloween.

I have been selling party supplies and costumes from Wanna Party since 2011, and in all these years I have watched trends come and go. Most Halloween trends in India last one season, maybe two. Squid Game is different. Since the show first blew up, the demand for guard masks and green tracksuits has actually grown each October, because every new group of friends, every college batch and every office team discovers it fresh. In this guide I am going to walk you through every Squid Game look you can build, what it costs, where to get each piece in India, and how to turn the whole party into a proper "game" without spending a fortune.

Why Squid Game Works So Well for Halloween in India

Before I get into the individual looks, it helps to understand why this theme keeps winning here. First, the base pieces are things most of us already own or can buy for very little. A green tracksuit, a plain tee and white sneakers are not exotic items — you can find them anywhere, and most people have at least a version of them at home. Second, the identity comes almost entirely from a mask and a number, which means nobody has to be a good tailor or spend hours on makeup. Third, it scales perfectly: one person looks good, six people look fantastic, and a group photo of identical guards is instantly social-media gold.

The Four Core Squid Game Looks

1. The Guards (Circle, Triangle and Square)

This is the most popular look by a huge margin, and it is also the easiest. The guard uniform is a bright pink jumpsuit with a black mask marked by a shape — circle for workers, triangle for soldiers and square for managers. Our Squid Game collection has the guard masks in all three shapes. Budget-wise, this is the cheapest full costume you can build: a mask under ₹300 and a tracksuit you likely already own.

2. The Front Man

The Front Man is the natural choice for the person who wants to stand slightly apart from the group. His look is a black faceted mask with a dark hooded coat or a long black jacket. One dark figure standing among a sea of pink looks incredible in photos. Our Squid Game collection includes the Front Man mask.

3. The Players

The players are the contestants in green tracksuits with a number on the front. This is the look for anyone who does not want to cover their face with a mask. You can buy the tracksuit ready-made or use any green tracksuit you already own and add a number patch or a white number painted on paper pinned to the chest. This is also the most comfortable option for kids.

4. The VIPs

The VIPs are the gold animal masks — best for a group of three to five people who want to feel a bit more sinister and dramatic. A black suit or dark outfit underneath completes it. If your group wants something that reads as "high-end villain" rather than "contestant", this is the one.

What It Actually Costs (Honest Numbers)

• Guard mask — ₹150 to ₹300.
• Front Man mask — ₹200 to ₹400.
• Green or pink tracksuit — ₹400 to ₹900 if you buy, or ₹0 if you already own one.
• Number patch or paint — ₹50 or free if you DIY.
• Optional props — ₹100 to ₹300 if you DIY.

A complete guard costume can cost under ₹500, and a whole group of six can be dressed for around ₹2,000 to ₹3,000 total.

Setting the Scene: Turn the Party Into the Game

Red and green lighting instantly makes a room feel like the show's arena. The dalgona challenge — easy to make at home with sugar and baking soda — is a perfect party activity. Red Light, Green Light needs no props at all and gets everyone moving. Our Halloween tableware and balloons can match the red and green theme, and the full Halloween collection has everything in one place.

Group Coordination: Assigning Roles So Nobody Fights

If you are a group of six, make one person the Front Man (black mask), one the triangle guard, one the square guard, and the other three circles. The hierarchy gives the group photo a focal point. If someone does not want to wear a mask, make them a player instead — a green tracksuit with a number keeps them fully in the theme. Decide roles in the group chat before you order, not after.

Kids vs Adults

For younger kids, the player look is best — a green tracksuit with a number is comfortable, recognisable and easy to take on and off. For adults, the guards and Front Man are the most photographed, the players are the most comfortable, and the VIPs are the most dramatic.
